Review Schlumberger slop and cuttings
Summary
readiness related to slop treatment and cuttings handling. SLB gave a systematic presentation on the topics requested by the review team and according to the agenda.
The review team identified one (1) non-conformance, no (0) improvement points, one (1) observation, and 9 actions.
Findings
-
SLB’s Measuring Program (TP-ESNOR-561-0559-Q-069) describes Envirounit STU. This unit uses
chemicals for slop treatment and are based on two different technologies. On DSY they use an
OTS STU where no chemicals are used.SLB to develop a measurement program for the Onsite Treatment Services (OTS) Slop Treatment Unit (STU) onboard Deepsea Yantai.
26.09.22: Measurement program received
-
In presentation SLB showed that the OTS STU discharged OiW below 30 ppm
AS 30 ppm is a requirement and everyone ensure that they are within that, the review team challenge SLB to show average ppm in presentations, to get a better understanding of the OTS STU’s performance (selling point).
25.08.22: SLB response – Future presentation will contain a better presentation of the ppm average.
-
SLB to share presentation
Presentation received 22.06.22
-
Consider using ISO tanks as standard for
future opsThe ISO tanks was onboard, but PUN decided to go for skip & ship. As an good ESG initiative to reduce CO2 emission, ISO hose management is a much better alternative than skip management.
It is discussed and considered as part of rig intake of DSY for Wellesley and DNO.
-
Secure that skip loading station is onboard before start-up of Copernicus and needed pipework installed
25.08.22: Status – SLS is delivered in Florø along with container to be put on the spud boat for delivery to DSY. Deadline is set for before start up of 12 ½’’ section (05.09.2022 according to Kabal)
10.09.22: All good -
SLB to send daily waste and slop reports to environmental@wellexpertise.com
Reports received when the Copernicus operation started
-
Sea fastening must be a checkpoint in DOP
(securing any loose items – check)Included when started sailing
-
Bring forward to Phil to check with
Neptune/Odfjell the slops unit air
compressors and centrifuge will all stay
on the rig for the move from Ophelia to
Copernicus (in transit draft)30.06.22: Centrifuge is staying. Air compressors lift on off relatively easy and they will be demobilised due to VDL limits and will be remobilised via Sandnesjøen.
-
Skip logistics need to be coordinated,
QA of skips integrity before backloadedSkips handling was coordinated with SLB throughout the whole operation and QA were performed before backload of every skip.
-
Are there any ESG initiatives affecting
the Copernicus ops? If possible, nice to
get documentation. SLB to check and
have this in your mind for future expl.
drilling ops.23.08.22: Asked for updates
25.08.22:
– SLB have proposed use of ISO pump to improve working environment, HSE and CO2.
– SLB have also offered PGNiG to use the ATC truck for cleaning tanks on the PSV, to re-use wash water, and minimize slop generated for clean up job. By use of this ATC unit also minimize the personnel for entering tanks. For the Copernicus project there were no ESG initiative from SLB ES.
-
Send self-assessment scheme related
to Transparency Act (sent to suppliers).Received 08.07.22.
