Borgland Dolphin


What happened in Rig move:
Two(2) harbour tugs were contracted by Dolphin Drilling to assist in holding Borgland Dolphin stationary during mooring while anchor handlers connected the prelaid anchor lines in Feda. During this operation, the tow bridle on the forward tug parted. Anchorhandler nedded to reconnect to line no 1 to assist in keeping Borgland Dolphin stationary while tug changed tow bridle.

What Was Planned

Mooring of Borgland Dolphin at Green Yard – Feda

What Was Learned

Tow bridles needs to be checked by tug personell to verify that they are in good shape and reday for use.
When tow bridles are connected to bolster, make sure there are no sharp edges where the tow bridles may get damaged.

What Actions Are Required

Minimum 2 tow bridles on each tug.
Be aware of sharp edges where tow bridle could get damaged
