What happened in Subsea:
During operations things got delayed and went missing in the transport route (Aker fuses for example). The WOCS-unit broke down and shipment of new parts were delayed by poor logistic on the service side. Specific for Aker, they needed an extra laptop, the WOCS-unit needed a new PAL-sensor and fuses. The fuses didn’t reach the helicopter in due time due to Aker giving the cargo at the heliport without any cargo number, and then going back and forth about sending it express to the boat at ASCO, eventually not finding where their cargo were located (DHL had the package). Two days delayed, the fuses from Aker arrived offshore.

SLB Geoservice Data Engineer needed three cargos and the SLB Geoservice people offshore thought the equipment arrived with the same helicopter as the crew change but no one from Onshore SLB had even asked for a cargo number and the packages arrived one day later, resulting in one day without progress on their unit.

What Was Planned

Equipment to be at place prior to operation and items function tested. Some equipment missing and being delayed by poor logistical planning on the service coordinator side.

What Was Learned

Good communication with the logistical service companies deligates to make thing go smoother.

What Actions Are Required

Set clear and straight forward guidelines to the service coordinators. It’s vital to have good logistical coordinator from service, which in this case may have been bad luck also, but good to bear in mind.
