Deepsea Bergen

What happened in Intermediate section:
Remote on Cement head did not work. Had to operate manually by man in riding belt. The tool worked prior to sending out to the rig and also when arriving back from the rig.

What Was Planned

Perform the 9 5/8″ cement job using a Halliburton remote operated cement head.

What Was Learned

The Halliburton incident report concludes that is was likely an interference from other Wi-Fi sources at the rig floor which interfered with the cement head and caused the problems not getting communication. Casing running equipment experienced the same issue the same day on the Deepsea Bergen as the problem with the cement head.

Operations on the next well drilled with Deepsea Bergen were successful after shutting off unnecessary Wi-Fi routers in the drillers cabin.

What Actions Are Required

Ensure unnecessary Wi-Fi equipment and routers close by the drill floor are shut-off when testing and operating the Halliburton remote operated cement head.
