What happened:
ROV was only equipped with standard jetting tool with low flowrate, unable to remove larger amounts of cuttings from PGB
What was planned:
Clean PGB with the ROV to save time
What was learned:
ROV did not have capability to clean cuttings of the PBB
What actions are required:
Rent dredging equipment (suction pump) that can be installed on ROV for future projects with cuttings return to seabed.
What Was Done
Used drill bit to clean PGB and area outside PGB. Pumped SW at hi-rate, 4500 lpm. Moved rig on anchor chains to position hanging BHA around the PGB, a time consuming and resource demanding process. Occupied deck crew on winches.
