What happened in Production section:
The Halliburton BSS “skip & ship” system worked very well. There was no problem handling60 m/hr avg. ROP. Avg. Meters drilled per skip was around 21 m/skip. Used interface slops from OBM displacement to “lubricate” cuttings. I.e. Pumped OBM/slops into cuttings ditch to make cuttings like a “liquid soap”. Should not do this as cuttings should be dry w/minimum oil attached for the disposal process onshore. Personnel wise, two Halliburton BSS w/ breathing mask on each shift managed the job OK. Could be questioned if they got their necessary breaks every 3 hrs from OBM fumes. One incident where the sample catcher dropped a metal object (sieve) into the cuttings ditch. This could have plugged up entire cuttings handling system.

What Was Planned

Process OBM cuttings/slops

What Was Learned

Halliburton BSS “skip&ship” works well. Should not lubricate cuttings with OBM. Could be beneficial to have more robust manning of BSS personnel during this section.
