Negative Casing LL with INEOS
Fat Canyon (6306/3-1 S) – Production section
What happened:
Went down with 9 5/8″ cutters and cut the casing, observed 75 bar pressure drop and torque drop to 4-5 kNm after 2 minutes. Pressure came back up to 90 bar and continued cutting another 3 min. Pulled up with full flow and no rotation, observed 5 MT overpull. POOH and RIH with spear, pulled with 100 MT, no go. RIH run #2 with cutters, successful cut after observing rapid torque peak of 9 kNm and string vibrations (casing stump fell down on knifes) .
What was planned:
Planned to cut 9 5/8″ casing below seabed prior to storm coming up.
What was learned:
Difficult to observe when the cut has been done, and the indications of the first cut and very similar to the second one.
