What happened in P&A:
TOA’s acoustic BOP pressure sensor was successfully used to monitor backpressure exerted on the well while circulating up choke/kill lines with BOP closed during casing cutting and seal assembly retrieval procedures when there was a low MAASP (8 bar) between 13 3/8″ FIT of 1.43 sg and 1.35 sg mud weight.

What Was Planned

Monitor backpressure

What Was Learned

Worked well, but should be used sparingly as the sensor is battery operated (no power from surface as on later generation/deepwater rigs with MUX systems). Good practice during critical operations.
