What happened:

BO&K Analysis performed in Aug 2022, with a sensitivity on revised reservoir data.

The simulation was high priority and fast tracked compared to conventional delivery time (3 days vs 3-4 weeks)

As a result, a formal Kick-off Meeting was not held, but instead a collection of emails/calls.

This resulted in a lack of clarity on key information/requirements for the scope of work.

What was planned:

Blowout and Kill analysis from Add Energy.

What was learned:

Recommended to have a formal kick off meeting prior to initiating the BO&K study, including all disciplines; Drilling, HSEQ, Environmental, Operator & Vendor.

Ensure all are in agreement with regards to the SOW, covering requirements from Drilling and HSEQ/Environmental. This will save time/money overall on the study and improve accuracy.

What actions are required:

Hold a kick-off meeting prior to starting the study.

To allow for accurate data to be included in the Environmental Risk and Blowout Contingency Analysis (ERACA) the expected reservoir data must be provided to the vendor (GOR, Viscosity, expected fluid etc.) Provided by the operator.

Together with this, for the ERACA the SOW should also include weighted blowout rates with distributions and durations. Even for expected gas wells, as you cannot rule out the potential for condensate.

What Was Done

A meeting was held on 15.06.23 to discuss the way forward.
Revised gas oil ratio and oil/condensate density will be provided to Add Energy together with updated viscosity.
Add Energy will keep the same simulation carried out in Aug 2022 but revise the reservoir data to determine weighted blowout rates, to provide as input to ERACA study.
