What happened:

IKM MRR 300 system (modified in lack of 500 system), failed to deliver adequate flow (3500lpm), resulting in NPT as well as going back to seawater and sweeps and returns to seabed.

What was planned:

Open pilot hole to 17 1/2″ and drill to 1100 m using MRR and 1.40 WBM and returns to surface, as contingency against SHWF.

What was learned:

Modified MRR 300 systems should not be considered equal to that of the intended MRR 500 systems.

What actions are required:

If faced with a modified version of the MRR system again, it is better to change supplier.
