Negative Operational LL with PGNiG
Shrek (6507/5-9 S, 6507/5-9 A) – Reservoir section
What happened:
Problems with gas readings from gas trap with flow less than 2000 lpm. Gas trap installed in flow line. Checked gas trap itself, suction lines and the pump (tested in bucket), equipment was found to be ok. Decided to move gas trap and install it in the flow divider box with good results.
What was planned:
Drill 8 1/2″ section with accurate gas trap/sensors.
What was learned:
Problem believed to be caused by flowline angle and degree of turbulence within the flowline.
What actions are required:
Have a B/U gas trap on board in the future. Make sure hose from pump can reach both gas traps (primary and BU). This will ensure redundancy if gas trap or pump fails.
