Copernicus (6608/1-1 S) – Reservoir section

What happened:

The BU GVR MWD tool for 8 1/2″ section not at site when drilling the section. The near bit resistivity failed in the tool. Since the well was drilled past coring point and other resistivity sensors located in the BHA further apart from the bit, it was decided to continue drilling op.

What was planned:

To have mobilized a BU in case of tool failure.

What was learned:

If the GVR tool had failed at expected reservoir/coring depth, the tool would likely been pulled and operation stopped until BU tool was mobilized

What actions are required:

To ensure to have BU tool mobilized in due time for phase of operation
