Falstaff (2/6-7 S) – Top hole

What happened:

Discovered dimensional issue between FA-1 tool and Dril-Quip couplings. Unable to enter with FA-1 tool into box end of float collar joint. FA-1 Guide Cone OD = 18.55”, FA-1 Packer Cup OD = 18.98” and Float Collar joint box ID = 18.25”.

What was planned:

Run the 20” casing with FA-1 tool. This allows for washing the casing down if any hole problems encountered.

What was learned:

Verify compatibility prior to shipment offshore.

What actions are required:

Make all efforts to ensure casing coupling ID is always equal or greater to pipe ID (this is a planning issue, subject to final verification offshore).
