What happened:

XT-22 tong was used – required machinery to be used in servie mode. This due to the tong did not fit in the “allowable area” for the ACS system. This required personnel to enter red zone to verify position of equipment and where the machines run slow enough to allow human operation with minimum risk of collision.

What was planned:

Planned to use FA-1 tool. Expro XT-22 tong and BX-3 elevator as BU for running 20” casing.

What was learned:

In view of need for manual intervention in service mode, not necessarily wrong to use belt tongs when using BX-3.
