What happened:
When RIH with Whipstock/Milling BHA to set the Whipstock, it took weight in the 9 5/8” liner – not able to get through with 10 MT WOB.
The drift BHA had an OD of 8.5”. The Lead Mill on the Whipstock/Milling BHA had an OD of 8.515”, same as the smallest ID in the Liner Hanger. Had to polish the 9 5/8” liner hanger area to be able to get through with Whipstock/Milling BHA.
What was planned:
RIH with Drift BHA when tagging P&A cement plug #1. The drift run to verify that we could run the Whipstock/Milling BHA in well without restrictions.
What was learned:
To run drift run with the same size as the BHA planned to go in hole.
