What happened in Reservoir section:
The anchor for the first Whipstock did not set probably – did not grip onto the casing. When putting weight down the Whipstock slid downwards in the well. Prior to running new Whipstock and EZSV was set a couple of meters below the planned setting depth of Whipstock. This was to mechanically help activating the anchor by pushing the Whipstock down on it to get the anchor to grip better.

What Was Planned

The plan was to set the anchor on the Whipstock hydraulically.

What Was Learned

The EZSV was not needed on the second Whipstock since the anchor set properly and did not slid down in the well when putting weight on it. But if there was a EZSV in the well on the first run the anchor could have been further activating, gripping onto the casing by pushing the Whipstock towards the EZSV.

What Actions Are Required

Evaluate setting EZSV prior to running Whipstock in future for BU if anchor does not properly set.
