What happened in Production section:
Managed to barely land the casing in very sticky clay.

Since the mainbore 9 5/8″ casing became stuck it was a constant danger that the sidetrack casing would be aswell. The drillers, as soon as they saw the string taking weight and the standpipe increasing, they immediately worked the sring upwards to make sure we still were free. In addition the flowrate were increased when the standpipe increased which helped remove clay around the string

What Was Planned

Run 9 5/8″ casing in sidetrack

What Was Learned

When running casing in WBM and clay, always ensure the string is free upwards when the string starts to take weight and standpipe increases (indications of swelling clay around the string) and not just keep forcing it downwards. It is important to take the time needed to land successfully under such tight hole conditions.
