Gomez (2/5-15) – Rig move

What happened:

Scope of work was not sent to OIM or DSV before job. Two men from Schlumberger arrived at rig to install the equipment. They required a lot of support from Dolphin, welding and rig electrician.

What was planned:

To install new wireline unit, power pack and winch from Schlumberger

What was learned:

Dolphin does not have a dedicated welder onboard. Rig electrician has many task in the normal job. Dolphin had difficulties and it took long time before they could support Schlumberger.

What actions are required:

Scope of work for all installation of new equipment should be sent OIM and DSV before hand. Once need for resources are clarified, it has to be agreed if service company should bring their own welder and electrician.

What Was Done

Welding will be done after the Schlumberger crew have left the rig. Rig electrician assisted Schlumberger, but this took long time to do, Schlumberger had to wait. OIM and Technical Section Leader asked me to write this experience and plan better for next time.
