Gomez (2/5-15) – Surface section
What happened:
The Franks split bushing spider (SBS) did not fit inside the EMSCO rotary table on Borgland Dolphin.
What was planned:
Run 20″ casing using remote controlled spider type casing slips
What was learned:
The SPS had been sent out with anti rotation lugs. These prevented the SBS to drop down into the rotary. The adapter ring had been back-loaded after the Oselvar project. It should have been kept onboard the rig.
What actions are required:
The lugs has to be removed from SBS onshore before shipped out. Alternatively the SBS with anti rotation lugs need an adapter ring it can sit on top of. This has to come out together with the SBS slips if it has rotation lugs.
