What happened in P&A:
Used smaller “Sea Owl” for subsea observation while cutting surface casing strings. This allowed changeout of the LAP on the BOP which had to be positioned in the port side of the moon pool, thereby preventing deployment of the bigger work-class ROV.

What Was Planned

ROV to observe while cutting casing.

What Was Learned

Use of motor assembly to cut casing strings was an advantage as it allowed the smaller ROV to leave its cage and get closer to the PGB. Had the rotary option been used, the ROV would have had to stay in its cage to observe.
