What happened:

The middle of the cement job was pumped with wrong additives concentration – extra retarder was pumped. When pre-programming the slurries for the cement job, 3 slurries was programmed with different density. This to easy switch over if observing the density was not as desired. One of the slurries pre-programmed was not set up correctly – resulting in extra retarder pumped. This could not be considered a barrier as it might not set up. After observing the error it was rectified and the last part of the job went as planned.

What was planned:

Cementing 13 5/8” casing according to cementing program.

What was learned:

Simplify to avoid errors – use one pre-programmed slurry and manually adjust the weight as required.
