What happened in Top hole:
It happened as planned. However, a suggestion of improvement was proposed.

What Was Planned

Take onboard 20″ casing, read land tally numbers and number them accordingly into a deck tally

What Was Learned

If the casing supplier write their land tally on both sides of their pipe (if it is at all practical), then the deck crew don’t have to stand on slippery casing and try to manually roll around casing joints to find the land tally number.

What Actions Are Required

If practical to do at all, maybe we can ask casing suppliers to do this.

Comments

As stated. Its not certain that it is feasible in practical terms, but at least its an idea to avoid risking deck crew falling and slipping in between heavy casing joints when manually trying to roll casings around to find the land tally no.
