What happened:

Not able to get BOP test – Burst seal on CHSART

What was planned:

During cementing 13 3/8″ sidetrack casing, it was decided to perform full BOP test prior to drilling reservoir section (which was not covered in DOP). The BOP was planned to be performed after setting seal assembly with CHSART.

What was learned:

It was decided to deviate from DOP in the last minute to test BOP after setting 13 3/8” SA. The CHSART had already been sheared off the SA and re-landed to test BOP. This is not according to DQ procedure. It states that the test needs to be executed prior to shearing off the CHSART from SA.
When POOH with CHSART to inspect – found a burst seal on same.

What actions are required:

RIH and set WB and tested BOP with MPT.
