What happened in Reservoir section:
Very well executed and all objectives was met.

What Was Planned

Drill, logg and sampling in 8 1/2″ horizontal section.

What Was Learned

– Focus shifted from KPI to data acquisition – no time pressure to chase highest possible ROP or Weight-to-Weight (Slips-to-Slips) times allowed for careful drilling parameter adjustment and monitoring, to prolong the lifespan of downhole tools which in the end resulted in one run, start to finish operation. Slow is smooth, and smooth is quick.

– Communication – excellent communication between Driller and DD, MWD/LWD, Sampling engineer during drilling and pressure point/sample acquisition phases of the run – toolbox talk before each operation/step has proven to be critical for good understanding of upcoming events and smooth execution.
– Good project planning and engineering – bottom hole assembly was designed properly to fit the purpose and well path. Trajectory was planned in such a way that it didn’t require major geosteering adjustments, which minimized hole tortuosity – that played a major role in shock & vibration reduction.
– Crew combination – engineers with most experience and expertise for tools used downhole were present on the job for the critical phase of the project.
