Negative Operational LL with Faroe

What happened:

Made first connection on core BHA #3. This 64 m core BHA would require 2 connections on bottom. During first connection with corehead on bottom (1 m heave), the hydraulic jar fired with the string in slips. Pipe did not move in slips, but shock could be felt on rigfloor. This action could possibley fracture & damage core downhole. Decided to break core and make second connection off bottom.

Should investigate if a hydraulic jar isi the best option when lpanning long core BHA which requires connection made off bottom. Alternatively, don’t make connection on bottom.
